Leeds United goalkeeper tweet possible insight to Salford game

Tomorrow evening, Leeds United appear on Sky Sports AGAIN in their EFL cup game against Salford City.

Against the side owned by a conglomerate of Manchester United’s famed ’Class of ’92’ side. They won their first ever game in the Football League on opening day with a 2-0 victory over Stevenage. They followed that up with a 2-0 defeat against Crawley, so enter the Leeds game on a loss.

Leeds United enter the game unbeaten after a sparkling 3-1 victory over Bristol City and a 1-1 draw against a Nottingham Forest side that they dominated and outclassed. Still, as Whites fans will readily admit, this isn’t going to be a game where they won’t get to see their Championship starting XI.

However, the following tweet From is/isn’t Leeds United keeper Josh Rae does present an interesting proposition and insight to a line-up possibility tomorrow.

Rae was a regular member of the Under-23s squad last season during their successful National Development League campaign and Premier League Cup run. However, Leeds are stuffed with keepers and youngster Rae was let go at the end of last season.

Then he was ‘brought back’, appearing in some pre-season friendly squads. Obviously, with him being released by the Whites, his reappearance raised a few eyebrows and led to a certain degree of questioning. The picture linked to his tweet adds to the ‘raised eyebrows/degrees of questioning’ scenario.

It is expected that this will get Leeds United fans questioning the possible line-up permutations ahead of the Salford City clash. With its ‘big week ahead’ caption, and picture of Kiko Casilla, it does raise a bit of interest in Josh Rae’s future.
